Beloved Juniper families,
We invite you to a conversation about race, diversity, inclusion, and our community's collective anti-racist efforts. This is a space for us to each explore the meaning behind becoming an anti-racist institution, to set goals, and to hear from our community about what needs are not currently being met. We ask this humbly of our families, as we recognize that the school community at large is a vital part of our planning and our internal work. We need to hear from you all!
The teaching body will share the work we have been doing, but we invite this discussion to function as an open forum, a space in which our parents can share their experiences if they feel comfortable doing so, and a place for teachers primarily to listen to our families and their needs as we move forward, together.
Please join us to ask questions, explore our curriculum, gain insight into our ideation and planning as a faculty, and give much needed input. Please contact us if you have not received the Zoom link and would like to join.
With deep appreciation and gratitude, we acknowledge parents Nama Khalil and Rebecca Brown, who have been vitally important to progressing this work within the teaching body, and who have both donated many hours of intellectual and emotional labor to bring us to this town hall with full and open hearts.
With endless love and gratitude, The Juniper Pedagogical Counsel
Teachers Annie, Marcelle, Kate, Nicole, and Zaryana
