Our Garden is Growing

The Background

In winter of 2024, a group of staff and parents met with Susan Weber of Integrity Sustainable Planning and Design to discuss our outdoor spaces. Susan had created a comprehensive garden plan for us nearly five years ago, that we had to put on hold during the pandemic years, and it was time to Start Again!

Where We Are Now

  • Design: Susan Weber at Integrity Sustainable Planting and Design hase created a beautiful new design in discussion with Faculty! It can be viewed in the Office.

  • Grants/Fundraising: A group of passionate and capable parents are writing Grants. We have received two grants, and have several more in process!

  • Beginning Work:
-Sod removal was completed on April 10 in the areas of the new Welcome Garden and Pollinator Garden on the East side of the school. We will plant new native shrubs and wildflowers in the area at a May 3 Community Work Day! (Sign up Here to help.) Signage will be created for the Gardens by Juniper students. This project is supported through a grant from Franklin County Soil and Water District.
-Over Spring Break our Early Childhood and Kindergarten Gardens will begin their transformation! The area will be professionally graded and fitted with drainage and new pathways to both beautify the Gardens and address ongoing water retention issues. After this work is complete we will begin adding planters and other magical features.
-More exciting projects are in the works for Fall 2025 and beyond. Stay tuned to this space for updates!

  • Get Involved: Opportunties for Community involvement will be posted here, as well as in our school Newsletter. Please join us to build this beautiful dream!
